just to mention that there is now a flash video tutorial available which describe the combined use of OpenFOAM 1.4 with SALOME for 3D CFD applications. The tutorial is available here: http://caelinux.org/wiki/index.php/Doc:CAETutorials
PS: this tutorial is based on CAELinux 2007, but you can get similar results with a custom installation of Salome & OpenFOAM as all the programs used are part of these two open source codes.
